Allyson Felix is the most successful athlete in the world with more Olympic track and fields medals than any female athlete. Carl Lewis, an American track and field competitor with 12 medals, is the only person with more medals. As of the moment of writing Allyson has won 10 Olympic medals.Allyson Felix was only 18 when she was a silver medalist in the 200 meter race at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She also set a World Junior record for the 200 meter event with her timing of 22.18. Her father, Paul, is a Baptist minister who had been an outstanding sprinter when she was teenager. Allyson was a direct descendant of Marlean, her schoolteacher mother. Felix followed her older brother, Wes, into the track, but she was not able to compete for a team in her ninth-grade school year Los Angeles Baptist High School in North Hills. She was a star athlete in her high school career , which she finished almost immediately. She was selected for the state championships just ten weeks later. She was 7th in the 200m race.
